The newly renovated Penthouse at the Hilton on South Beach is not only unique to the Hilton Hotel itself, but unique to Miami Beach in general. This one of a kind unit features state of the art interior design for the living area, with two balconies that have million dollar beach views, a full kitchen, two bedrooms, and don’t forget the private rooftop pool overlooking the Atlantic.
We approached this shoot with the goal of making it look as naturally lit as possible. Once again strobe lighting came into play to balance the beach views with the interior and offered a clean look to the final images.
For this project I was commissioned to shoot classic product shots on a white seamless backdrop of some new custom wine racks by Glass and Glass in Miami for there latest advertising campaign. I was excited to provide the final shots of this wine rack in Black and White which certainly give this piece a retro look. Photographing glass can be quite a challenge and often the best way to handle it is to light behind the glass to give a silhouetted look to piece itself. The effect of lighting the negative space in turn lights the object in this situation.
Haimov Jewelry is a high-end commercial jeweler/watch maker in Downtown Miami these are some examples of a product photography shoot we did for them in conjunction with Haute Living Magazine for an advertising campaign with the Magazine. Working as a product photographer shooting jewelry and watches is not as easy as it may seem, dealing with the proper lighting and reflections are a challenge especially when diamonds are involved. Always remember to keep the hands of the watches at the 10 and 2 positions.
Another interesting assignment for Haute Living Magazine! As a professional photographer you never know what the next project will bring, it is not every day that I get the opportunity to work with a subject such as this and we certainly made the best of it! I not only had the opportunity to photograph the Ferrari California, but we drove it all over Miami for the day picking some very iconic locations to shoot around the city. The first stop was Miami’s Wynwood Art District to shoot the car against a backdrop of the notorious Wynwood Walls where the contrast of graffiti really made the Ferrari pop. We then took the a trip over to Fairchild Tropical Gardens and did something you could only do if you have a Ferrari, we drove right into the grounds of the park and took a few shots of the car in the lush tropical gardens until we got kicked out by the grounds keeper (who was laughing at the our bold attempt to break into the park.) From there we took a trip into Coral Gables and got a few pictures in front of the Biltmore. Our plan the whole time was to finish this project at sunset under the 395 causeway with it’s glowing deco style bridge as a backdrop.
Roz Shuster DesignsDCOTA installation for Luxe Magazine. This was my first opportunity to shoot for Roz Shuster Designs and their vignette really stood out at the exhibit. The use of neutral colors and modern style furniture is a typical look for Roz Shuster Designs. Roz is a South African Interior Designer who does a lot of work up in Boca Raton, Florida.
This project for William Bernard Design Group was one of my first Architectural Photography shoots in South Florida. This shoot featured an iconic Plantation style house in the heart of Ft Lauderdale. The photography from this project was submitted to an interior design contest for ASID in which William Bernard Design Group took first place for Residential Transitional Design making me an “award winning photographer.” The first of my professional photography career. I could tell that working as a commercial photographer in Miami would be the perfect place for craigdenis.com to build a strong portfolio.
The exteriors from this project were featured on Houzz
Back in February I scored the opportunity to travel up to Long Island, New York …(where as some of you know I am from) to photograph this spectacular residence in Long Beach. This was my first time working with Erin from EMC2 Interiors and I had no idea what to expect. The nautical elements and vintage type furniture are a nice touch to Erin’s chosen color palette for this cleverly remodeled home. Check out www.craigdenis.com for more from this project.
Things have been very busy as of late and this is my first post in quite some ti…me but I will have some exciting new images to come.
This retro style demo by William Bernard Design Group was a key feature at the 2011 DCOTA Showhouse which had an old school Hollywood theme.
My first professional architectural photography project for Pfuner Design in Miami took me back to Jade Ocean, one of the prominent buildings on the Sunny Isles landscape that seems keep luring in. This impressive two story penthouse unit’s interior has been custom designed with intricate wood walling and unique furniture which I accented with strategic lighting. The unit is for sale and can be yours for just under 10 million dollars. The stunning Architecture of Jade Beach and Jade Ocean have brought me to the Condos three times at the end of 2010 for two different Interior Designers and a high-end Realtor. This project by AJP Design Systems was the first one. Although it was a smaller project the complex wood work and clever art made this an interesting one.
